This Cookie Policy explains how SmartComply uses cookies, pixels, scripts, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies on smartcomply.app, customer workspaces, support tools, and related pages.

Cookies and browser storage help us keep users signed in, route users to the correct tenant, remember preferences, secure the service, measure reliability, understand site usage, and, with consent, measure marketing performance.

Essential storage is required for authentication, tenant routing, security, fraud prevention, load balancing, consent records, and basic site operation. Essential storage cannot be disabled through the preference center because SmartComply will not work correctly without it.

Functional storage remembers choices such as theme, support chat continuity, dismissed notices, and product preferences.

Performance and analytics storage helps us measure page performance, product usage, reliability, errors, referral sources, and aggregate engagement.

Marketing storage helps measure campaigns, conversions, and advertising performance and may support ad personalization when enabled.

Google Tag Manager is configured with Google Consent Mode. By default, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization are denied.

Analytics consent grants analytics_storage. Marketing consent grants ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization. Security storage remains enabled for security-related use.

SmartComply does not include the Google Tag Manager noscript iframe because it cannot read or honor saved browser consent preferences when JavaScript is disabled.

nile_token: essential. Keeps authenticated sessions signed in. Duration: Session or configured account duration.

tenant_id, tenant_slug, user_id, user_email, user_name: essential. Routes users to the right tenant and personalizes authenticated app screens. Duration: Session or until sign out.

_vercel_sso_nonce: essential. Supports protected Vercel preview access during testing. Duration: Short-lived session.

smartcomply_consent_preferences: essential. Stores cookie and tracking preferences. Duration: Until preferences are changed or browser storage is cleared.

theme: functional. Remembers light or dark appearance preferences. Duration: Until changed or browser storage is cleared.

smartcomply_support_visitor_id, smartcomply_support_conversation_id: functional. Keeps the support and sales chat connected to the same visitor conversation. Duration: Until the conversation is cleared or browser storage is cleared.

_ga, _ga_<container-id>, _gid, _gat, _gac_<property-id>: analytics. Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish visitors, measure sessions, throttle requests, and connect campaign attribution when analytics consent is granted. Duration: Commonly up to 2 years for _ga, 24 hours for _gid, and 1 minute for _gat; Google-controlled durations may vary by configuration.

GTM-WCBZLXNF: analytics. Loads Google Tag Manager after analytics or marketing consent so approved analytics or advertising tags can run with Google Consent Mode. Duration: Script load only; tags inside the container may set their own cookies.

_gcl_*, IDE, test_cookie: marketing. Google advertising and conversion cookies used only if marketing consent is granted and matching tags are configured in Google Tag Manager. Duration: Provider controlled; Google Ads cookies commonly range from minutes to months depending on the cookie and tag configuration.

Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights identifiers: analytics. Measures aggregate page usage, performance, and reliability. Duration: Provider controlled; typically short to medium term.

Sentry diagnostics identifiers: analytics. Connects errors and performance traces for troubleshooting. Duration: Provider controlled; typically short to medium term.

Advertising or conversion pixels: marketing. Measures campaigns if SmartComply enables marketing pixels. Duration: Provider controlled.

You can open the cookie preference center from the footer or the legal center and update optional categories at any time.

Rejecting or later disabling optional categories may prevent related scripts from loading and may clear or stop using related cookies or browser storage where practical.

You can also use browser controls to delete or block cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, tenant routing, support flows, consent storage, or product functionality from working correctly.

Some browsers send Do Not Track or global privacy signals. Because there is not one consistent legal or technical standard for all signals, SmartComply honors choices through its cookie preference center and any legally required opt-out mechanism made available in the product.

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies, tags, service providers, or consent categories. The cookie inventory reflects the current product configuration maintained in SmartComply.
